Identifying dangers is an important skill to have. When identifying dangers we need to use our senses ; including our common sense.
Sight
We look for anything potentially dangerous, unusual, and strange. We check to see if what we are using is broken. This insures that we and the people around us are safe. If we are in a forest than we look for dangerous plants and animals as well as trash. Tip never look directly at a laser.
Smell
When using our noses to smell for things if we are using any chemicals it is important to waft the smell rather than inhaling deeply, which could damage your heatlh. If we are on our way through a city or neighborhood we should always be on the alert for drugs. It’s always good to be prepared, even in the most unsuspected places.
Hearing
We need to use our ears for any sounds that are caused by something dangerous. An example of this could be a scream in a street just out side a the store. It is good to check things out with safety and caution. We should also listen for signs of trouble or someone needing help, whatever it is.
Taste
Have you ever inhaled and tasted what you just inhaled? Thankfully we don’t have to taste things in order for us to know if something is dangerous or not ( in many cases). We should however take note if we taste something that is dangerous, sour or rotten. It could simply be the food in the fridge. It is always good when in doubt to throw it out, or use it if it can be done with wisdom.
Touch
The sense of touch is a critical component in identifying potential dangers, often serving as an immediate warning. We have to be recognizing the subtle cues that touch can provide. For instance, the unexpected sensation of heat can signal a fire hazard, while an unusual vibration might indicate machinery malfunction. Touch is a very important sense, we can feel itchy, hard, sharp, slippery and hot things that could be dangerous. We could also feel something that causes pressure. When we are feeling for signs of danger you do not want to harm yourself, so be carefull.
Common Sense
Any obvious signs of danger and avoiding it. The last resort when in a dangerous situation is fighting. We should be careful and make sure there is no other options before engaging. for more good tips check out gun safety.
